All Mr. Weaver will do is take your money and then tell you to plead guilty. Don’t bother trying to ask him to look at evidence because he can’t be bothered.
Also, during a marathon interrogation which lasted for hours, I asked the University of Illinois police for a lawyer only to be told that I would get my “f%^@& lawyer when I started answering questions”. Mr. Weaver said that all of this was perfectly legal and that the police are allowed to lie about what happened in their sworn reports (so it perfectly acceptable to change reports) to the courts and you are not entitled to a lawyer when being questioned; so I should just plead guilty. I guess when they say you are entitled to a lawyer it does not apply when you a dealing with the University of Illinois Police Department.
I hired Blake Weaver to defend me against a bogus dui arrest from the University of Illinois Police Department. The police refused to allow to me take the breath-test, but then submitted paperwork to the State saying that I refused to take the test. I paid Mr. Weaver $3,000 for a defense and asked him twice in writing to appeal the statutory summary suspension. I explained to him during every meeting and court appearance that keeping my DL was the paramount concern. Mr. Weaver did not bother to fill out the paperwork and I lost my DL for three years. During every meeting I had with him he insulted me and lied to my face regarding the status of my driving privileges. Afterward, I found out what he had done and I confronted him he threatened to use his influence to have me charged with a felony. So even though the charges were dropped (no thanks to him he wanted me to plead guilty-before he even had all of the so-called evidence) I still lost my DL.
Afterwards, I got the University of Illinois Police to admit via the President’s office, in writing, that I was not allowed to take a breath-test. So the police admitted to perjury when questioned by the University of Illinois President’s office. They also claimed the reason I was not taken to the hospital for blood and urine tests was because I refused to go? How does someone under arrest refuse to go anywhere? When they realized no one would believe them they changed the paperwork to say I refused to submit blood and urine testing and was not asked to take the breath-test which contradicts their original report which claimed that I refused to take a breath-test. So the police claim that I refused to take a test that I took I the field and then tried to hide it from the President’s Office Of course, this was all in vain because Mr. Weaver did not fill out a simple form within 90 days appealing the summary suspension.
The process was extremely painless. Blake Weaver was excellent to work with and did not draw out the process needlessly. Cari Ritchie was outstanding in answering my questions and was always extremely friendly, prompt and efficient. I would highly recommend this firm to others.
