I wish I could bring this plumbing company with me when I move! I didnt need them often (thankfully) but when I did they were always on time and very reasonably priced. All of the employees that I dealt with were great.
I called on a Monday morning in need of a water heater. They had a guy out by 11:30am. I got a 40 gallon Bradford White gas water heater installed. It took him about 1 hour. Total cost $810. For comparison, Home Depot would have been comparable (though from past experience probably with worse service) except they wanted to charge an extra $130 dollars because my water heater is in the basement. If I couldn't help the guy get the water heater out of the basement, I would have had only an extra $35 since they would have had to send another man out. Also, I called Urbana Heating and Plumbing, and they quoted me an estimate of $1200 to have an AO Smith water heater installed, which from what I can tell is a much lower quality unit. (They make the Whirlpools that are the cause of a class action suit because they are so faulty.) I was very pleased with the service.
I think you are better off by opening your house to a group of hooligans. The damage will be worse for sure, but it will be free of charge.
Nothing as it should, sloppy and messy. They came to change an old pipe with a new pvc one. When they left, they didn't check to see if the water was working properly: no shower for me and my family that night. Called the emergency number, no answer. They came back to solve the problem, charged me for labor and left. They reassembled my shower knob improperly. No shower for me and my family that night. They came back a third time to collect, fixed the problem and left. A crew of two, one worker, one apprentice, both charged at full price. Installed a gas line, it sticks 3 inches off the wall and my gas range can no longer stand close to the wall. I now have to call somebody else to fix that problem. As a minor thing, they never cared about stepping all over my floors with dirty shoes. Fortunately, I don't have carpet...

came out on time, did a fast job and didn't charge an arm and a leg. I'll be calling them in the future.
