A couple of the other reviews that are negative, (most of the reviews are glowing), I can tell seem to be unreasonable people. The guy that complained about $150 as being too high. Are you kidding me! You can't get out of a shop for that little of an amount most times! And the other one about how they couldn't fix the issue. There are some things they can't fix due to the car manufacturers keeping some parts proprietary so you have to go to the dealer. Peter B's will fix what they can, and for far less than the dealer, and won't add on a bunch of fluff to jack the cost, and what they can't fix they'll let you know about so you can go to the dealer to get the usually minor item that must be fixed by them, and armed with the knowledge to not let the dealer mess you around.

Peter worked on my '99 Porsche Boxster twice. Once to help me fix an ECU glitch and the other to fix a Brake Booster/Master cylinder problem. Both times the problem was non-standard and overly complicated. Both times, he was extra diligent and took the extra time needed to fix the problem. Both times, he explained what was wrong with the car, and how he would fix it. Both times, he patiently answered my naive questions and re-explained the car problems until the information finally found a way through my skull. And then, after all his time and energy, he only charged me a reasonable rate for fixing the problems! Peter is a professional and an honest guy. I can't recommend him enough. If you have a high end sports car, don't waste your time at Rick's. Go to Peter B's. He's the best in town.

Have taken my vehicles to Peter for over 20 years. Have never had any problems with their work. This is a mechanic I trust to take my vehicles for repair. Issues explained in clear "non-car person" language and I have never felt pressured to get additional work done. I have peace of mind that the work is done correctly the first time. Highly recommend.

Urbana and Oakland, IL.

They drove my car for a few days and kept repeating they can't find anything wrong with it. All the while telling me the Transmission Module is giving error codes.

They are honest, knowledgeable, and reasonable. You usually need an appointment because they are so popular, but if you have a true emergency, let them know, and they'll try to accommodate you. Also if you've been going to them for years and let them know that you need your car soon they'll fit you in faster if able to. Don't abuse this though!

If the Trans Module is giving errors code and they are unable to be cleared, does that not mean that the module needs to be repaired? They ignored this and told me to pick the car up when I can.

Took my car in due to it dying on me out of nowhere. The service light turned on, so I took it to Peter B's.

The invoice to drive my car around was $150. When I asked how a diagnostic could possibly cost 150 she told me they cleaned out a few systems. I didn't realize forcing air through a car could lead to a $150 charge.

I'm out $150 and the only thing I can do is warn people about Peter B's. He has a big reputation in the area due to word of mouth advertisement and it must have gone to their heads. They are charging overly high prices. Go somewhere else where they don't charge over $100 to drive your car around and then ignore computer codes about problems with your transmission.

Peter, Cindy, Diane, and the whole staff there is great! I have been taking my vehicles there for about twenty years. I take it to the dealer until the warranty runs out and then straight to Peter B's.

The best workshop in Chambana. Honest and skillful people. I am so glad that I got to know this place.

Take your Toyota to Napleton's/O'Briens as long as the warranty is good, and then take it to Peter B' to get higher quality work done at a definite savings!

I asked to speak to a mechanic direct so I could get the whole story of what happened, but the front desk lady didn't let me. I was put into a bad mood and didn't feel like going off on her so I left it at that.
