The entire staff was expertly trained and cocktail hour, dinner, and dessert was unrushed, but didn’t linger. Food appeared and disappeared as if by magic and every single person was attentive, kind, and committed to making the evening run smoothly.
We are immensely grateful to Bob and everyone at Classic Events. The evening was more than we could have ever hoped for or even imagined and we will remember it for decades to come.

Classic Events Catering hosted our wedding reception this past Saturday and it was nothing short of incredible. Bob and his staff are exceptional and every detail throughout the entire evening was thoughtful and masterfully executed. Bob took care of absolutely everything. We used both spaces (the fireplace room that opens onto the golf course and the upstairs ballroom with the vaulted ceiling and skylight) at their Stone Creek event space in Urbana. Bob takes great pride in his events and it shows.
Both rooms were set up beautifully and the downstairs space was disassembled and totally transformed while we were at dinner making each part of our reception feel like a brand new and exciting event. The weather was good and Bob had the outside patios set up as well creating yet another space for guests to enjoy (not to mention a huge space for the little ones to run around and enjoy themselves too). Nothing was stagnant making the whole evening interesting and lots of fun. Plus the backdrop of the golf course was beautiful and we were able to watch the sun set as the gorgeous wall of windows was filled with incredible colors.
Dinner was exquisite. The salad was a work of art, the chicken was flavorful, the polenta cakes were delectable, and the filet was cooked to perfection. Nothing was over or undercooked and each plate was gorgeous to look at. Plus Bob easily accommodated a number of dietary restrictions for individual guests. Every meal came out as it would at a fine restaurant and it was hard to believe that such consistency and excellence was possible on that scale. And the cake! I am generally not a big fan of wedding cake because, for me, it is often dry and I never think fondant tastes like anything. But this cake was amazing. It was moist, each layer was a different kind of cake, and the buttercream frosting miraculously held its shape and included sweet little detailed designs…and it was also delicious. Our guests were overwhelmed by the quality of the food and continue to write and call to tell us how much they enjoyed it.
